“OLD CORDOVA MEMORIES” has lots of memories submitted from former students of the old Cordova School, with 280 pages filled with many old historical photographs and class pictures! If you or a family member attended the original brick school building you will want a copy of this book. Many people do not realize the town of Cordova was known fist as Marysville, then Allentown, and Dexter before finally settling on the name Cordova. Old Cordova Memories covers the history of the town of Cordova and its people, the original Cordova School building and former students. It covers how the school building transitioned into Cordova Community Center and covers the rental opportunities and events happening at Cordova Community Center, such as the annual 4th of July Parade and Arts & Crafts Festival. The book is a collection of photographs, memories, historical information about the town. It's a must have for genealogist with families surrounding the Cordova area.

About the Author:

Though I didn?t know it at the time, growing up in the country was truly a blessing. It was an amazing gift that I took for granted! I really had wonderful parents, family, community, and church family. We never locked our doors back in those days, and when I started school, the family just got bigger to include all the classmates there.
Now being 52 years old, still living in Cordova with my husband and two grown sons, I drive by the old school building and am flooded with emotions. I have to look over at the building each and every time I pass by. It never grows old and commonplace. Instantly I am transformed in thoughts to being inside with the creaky wooden floors and all the familiar things and faces of the people of days gone by.
One day I didn?t pass by. I stopped and went inside. Many of things I found in there have been included in this book!
I am currently the Cordova Museum Curator/Director.
