About this Book:

This is the life story of Tom Cook, born the son of an Oklahoma sharecropper during the great depression. While growing up, a new job offer always looked better to his father so Tom went to two schools in Oklahoma, two in Nebraska, lived in Idaho one summer then went to two schools in Oregon and finally, two more in Washington. He never attended the same school four consecutive years until he graduated from Washington State University. As a 12 year old boy, he lived it the tall timber near Alpine, Oregon and was able to explore the woods and mountains like Huck Finn was able to explore the Mississippi River. After graduating from college, he spends 20 years in the U. S. Air Force and, as a result, moves from one station to the next every two or three years. After retiring from the Air Force, he bought part of the Texas ranch his grandfather once owned and fulfilled his life’s dream. The story records the good times, the hard time and humorous events of a life time.
