All Three novellas involve a journey. In The Last Long Walk of Noah Brown, a young developmentally disabled man walks from Annapolis, Md. all over the south to New Orleans where he eventually saves several people and pets during the flood, in the canoe he built years before and pulled behind him wherever he went. In The King and The Clockmaker, the victim of a despot's irrational rage walks from a mythical city to his village across many miles and centuries. In The Vast Darkness, the journey is cultural and psychological with a strange twist at the end.

Sandra Shwayder Sanchez always loved reading mythology and writing stories with a touch of magical realism. She also loves hiking in the mountains that inspire her imagination. After practicing law for twenty years she now lives in retirement with her husband in a small mountain town in Colorado.
