Gettin' Paid is a novel about choice. Circumstances may impact choice and sometimes they do, but the ability to choose right from wrong is innate in each of us, so regardless of where you live or how less fortunate your circumstances, how you choose to respond at key moments in the course of your life is a conscious individual action, come what may, and this truth should not be diminished or discounted by debating the reasons that lead some to make bad choices.
